Starting January 2025:
Doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) program at The Pennsylvania State University

I am a graduate student soon finishing my second master’s degree at The Pennsylvania State University through the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences in University Park, Pennsylvania, in December 2024. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Professional Studies in Renewable Energy and Sustainability Systems Program (MPS-RESS), with a concentration in Sustainability Management and Policy. My background and skill set are diverse. I have established businesses in the United States and Japan while traveling to several dozen countries for business. Additionally, I am fortunate to be multilingual and multicultural. This enables me to easily adjust, adapt, and relate to many different people across various cultural backgrounds. In January 2025, I will be a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) program at The Pennsylvania State University. My praxis in this program is centered on a critical issue at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and social equity: the refurbishment and redistribution of decommissioned solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. As the adoption of solar energy accelerates globally, the challenge of managing end-of-life panels becomes increasingly pressing. My research aims to develop a scalable and economically viable model for refurbishing these panels and reintroducing them into the market, particularly in underserved regions such as Indonesia. This approach not only addresses environmental concerns but also reduces the economic barrier to solar energy adoption in developing countries, where the initial investment in new technology is often prohibitive. The potential to transform decommissioned solar panels into a sustainable resource represents a groundbreaking step in renewable energy technology—one that can significantly enhance energy accessibility while mitigating waste. This initiative will leverage my deep understanding of renewable energy systems, policy frameworks, and cross-cultural management to create a model that can be adapted and implemented worldwide. My goal is to be a pioneer in the circular economy for solar energy, setting a new standard for environmental responsibility and social impact in the energy sector.Upon completing the D.Eng. program, I plan to expand my consulting work, focusing on scaling sustainable energy solutions across Southeast Asia. My aim is to bridge the gap between advanced technological solutions and practical implementation, making sustainable energy a realistic option for communities worldwide.Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
